Last week I decided to take my girlfriend away on a romantic break. Unfortunately, neither of us could get much time off and we didn’t have any weekends free. Determined to still go away we decided to go to a city for the day.
We decided to search for flights that obviously weren't far and eventually agreed on flights to rome.
Rome is about two and a half hours away so it was perfect! We set off early and arrived ready to see some sights before stopping for a quick lunch. We then went back to sight seeing and managed to hop on a tour bus, as we didn’t have much time, and everything is quite spaced out in the city.
We finally stopped for dinner around 6ish and went to a traditional Italian restaurant that a friend from home had recommended before flying out there. We even managed to have a bottle of champagne! Then we got back in our taxi ready for our flight home at 10pm. It was a tiring and very long day, but well worth it. Many think that when going abroad you need to spend at least a night there, but if you don’t have much time then I highly recommend a day trip!
